A ground breaking ceremony was held this morning in Port Vila to build the new Chancery building of the China embassy in Vanuatu.
The project will be built at Namba 3 area in Port Vila and was approved by the Chinese government
China and Vanuatu established diplomatic relations in 1982 – 2 years after independence and Chinese government established its honoury consul to Vanuatu in 1989.
Since upgrading to an embassy in 2005 the china government still rent a private property in Namba 2 area to house its embassy.
The new development to build the permanent house and office of the Embassy of the people’s republic of china in Port Vila shows good relationship between china and Vanuatu.
